Materials and Manufacturing Processes (IF 2020 = 4.616)

Journal of Metalcasting

Aims and scope

The International Journal of Metalcasting is dedicated to leading the transfer of research and technology for the global metalcasting industry. The quarterly publication keeps the latest developments in metalcasting research and technology in front of the scientific leaders in our global industry throughout the year. All papers published in the the journal are approved after a rigorous peer review process. The editorial peer review board represents three international metalcasting groups: academia (metalcasting professors), science and research (personnel from national labs, research and scientific institutions), and industry (leading technical personnel from metalcasting facilities).

About IJMC

This journal leads the dissemination of research and technology for the global metalcasting industry. Published quarterly in affiliation with the American Foundry Society, the journal brings the latest developments in metalcasting research and technology to a broad audience of scientific leaders in this global industry all through the year. The international peer review board includes experts drawn from three metalcasting groups: metalcasting educators working in academia; science and research personnel from national laboratories, research and scientific institutions; and leading technical personnel from industrial metalcasting facilities.

  • • Disseminates the latest progress in metalcasting research and technology
  • • Addresses an international audience of scientific leaders in metalcasting
  • • Published in affiliation with the American Foundry Society

International Journal of Metalcasting is a Transformative Journal (TJ). When research is accepted for publication, authors can choose to publish using either the traditional publishing route OR via immediate gold Open Access.

International Journal of Metalcasting is actively committed to becoming a fully Open Access journal. We will increase the number of articles we publish OA, with the eventual goal of becoming a fully Open Access journal. A journal that commits to this process is known as a Transformative Journal.

Materials and Manufacturing Processes

Materials and Manufacturing Processes deals with issues that result in better utilization of raw materials and energy, integration of design and manufacturing activities requiring the invention of suitable new manufacturing processes and techniques, unmanned production dependent on efficient and reliable control of various processes including intelligent processing, introduction of new materials in industrial production necessitating new manufacturing process technology, and more. Information is offered in various formats, including research articles, letter reports, review articles, conference papers, applied research, book and conference reviews, and entire issues devoted to symposia.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editors, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is single blind and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts.

Papers must emphasize manufacturing processes and NOT ONLY characterization or modeling or properties.
